Indian Stock Market Closing Updates:The Indian market closed with moderate losses today. Metal was the biggest looser of today's trade. The Sensex ended at 16846 down 72 points and the Nifty moved at 5109 down 18 points. The overall market breadth was negative with advances at 465 against declines of 959 on the NSE.
NIFTY OUTLOOK:The market got off to a weak start, tracking global cues, and plunged deeper into the red subsequently, and despite staging a smart recovery past mid afternoon, ended the day on a negative note on Wednesday. The broader 50-stock Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange closed at 5109.60, more than 30 points off the day's low of 5076.60, recording a loss of 18.60 points or 0.36%.
